For C+B, The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is not just a beautiful mountain resort. It holds special meaning in their relationship, as it is where they first met while attending a conference as University students. Ten years later, they chose to hold their wedding here – on Valentine’s Day. It doesn’t get more romantic than that!

For privacy reasons we aren’t sharing any photos of the happy couple and their guests, but we wanted to showcase some of the gorgeous décor we designed, and acknowledge the talented team of event professionals who helped bring this day to life.

• The luxurious custom invitation and stationery suite by Palettera featured gold foil application and letterpress printing, with custom illustrations of places of significance to their love story. The invitations were delivered in gorgeous boxes lined with red rose paper and finished with satin ribbon.
• Guest tables were dressed in cream overlays with embroidered appliques, giving a soft and romantic look to the Beauvert Ballroom. Natural Manzanita tree centrepieces designed by fabLOOMosity twinkled with gold votives that hung from the branches, while a base of hydrangea and lush garden roses spilled onto the tables. Pearl glass charger plates, cranberry napkins and letterpress menus completed each setting.
• The 18-person wedding party sat at a dramatic King’s Table covered in a lush floral tablescape of textural greens, cream and burgundy blooms, and ample candlelight.
• The Art of Cake designed a gorgeous four-tier cake covered in hand-sculpted gold petals.

Hard to believe it’s almost been a year since Sheena + Chad’s wedding. This pretty fête was featured on Style Me Pretty Canada, but we wanted to give it the blog love it deserves on JBW as well!

When Sheena + Chad first came to us to plan and design their big day, the words they used to describe their vision were romantic, timeless, intimate and elegant. Above all, they wanted each guest to feel important – that they had played a special part in their love story.

We lucked out with beautiful weather for the outdoor ceremony at Magrath Mansion – an Edmonton landmark and historic private estate. A beautiful vintage hutch displayed photos of family members who are no longer with us, so their memories would be present at the occasion. Chad wrote his wedding vows on cue cards and each one had a word in large bold letters on the back. All together they read: “I will love you forever.” Such a sweet surprise gesture for his bride!

We transformed the Art Gallery of Alberta’s Manning Hall from a cool, contemporary space into a warm and romantic haven for the reception. Mixing square and round tables with different linen combinations and centrepiece designs added layers of texture and interest. The unique head table backdrop featuring ombré hanging floral stems beautifully framed the bride and groom.

When we first met Linda + Marcus they shared that the movie Up! has special meaning in their relationship, so including balloons in their wedding celebrations was a given.

Known for telling stories through their photography, Infused Studios were the perfect fit to document Linda + Marcus’ special day. Their Up! themed engagement session was featured on Love & Lavender! We also incorporated balloons down the aisle at their gorgeous Magrath Mansion ceremony.

The reception was held at one of our favourite Edmonton wedding venues – The Art Gallery of Alberta – where gold metallic elements were paired with vibrant shades of purple to create a striking design. It’s hard to believe it has nearly been one year since the big day!

Earlier this year we worked with an incredible team of creative professionals to produce a shoot inspired by Pantone’s 2014 Colour of the Year – Radiant Orchid. Pairing a gradient of purples – from soft lavender to deep plum – with tones of peach, tangerine and copper, resulted in an unexpected colour palette that inspired all elements of the shoot. We tinted our model’s hair peach, incorporated peaches, grapes and blackberries in the edible components, and even had a peach kitten on set!

Pops of black gave the design a contemporary edge, and triangles were used as a geometric component that were carried through the stationery, cake, bouquet, food and accessories. Enjoy this selection of our favourite images below, and jump over to WedLuxe.com to check out the full feature!

Last week we shared the inspiration behind Sandy + Steve’s Enjoy Centre wedding design. As far as winter weddings go, this one is pretty spectacular!

Both from large families with strong cultural traditions, we worked with Sandy + Steve to fuse their East Indian and Croatian backgrounds to create a truly unique event experience.

• A traditional East Indian Henna (Mehndi) party was held before the wedding.
• A Croatian band played at the ceremony and throughout dinner.
• Sandy wore a gorgeous ivory lace gown for the ceremony, while her bridesmaids wore traditional East Indian attire.
• Customary Croatian shots of fine cognacs and grappa were served to guests upon arrival at the reception.
• A Dhol drummer escorted the newlyweds into their reception for the grand entrance.
• A mix of Western and Eastern cuisine was served which included family favourites from both sides.
• DJ Pat from Premiere DJs by Urban Metropolis played a fusion of Indian dance music, Top 40, R&B and classic Croatian polkas!

Jenny + Hon’s gorgeous Oasis Centre Edmonton wedding is featured in the Spring/Summer 2014 issue of Blush Magazine. From a sumptuous Vera Wang gown to a custom DIY chalkboard photo booth backdrop, every detail pointed to romance.

The reception featured a traditional Chinese Lion Dance, an expansive sweet table by LOVEInc. Dessert Styling, and a very special signature drink: DougieDog Root Beer brewed by one of Jenny’s family members in Vancouver. The phenomenal family style menu was designed by Culina Catering and featured three types of appetizers, coconut poppy seed salad with berries, edam cheese and candied walnuts, pork con leche and chipotle roasted garlic braised bison short ribs.
