Kailey + Dave were the epitome of elegance on their September wedding day at The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. Not a bit phased by Mother Nature’s plans for rain and forest fire smoke, they focused on what matters most about a wedding: soaking in every moment of love from their family and friends.

Kailey and her mother spent months planning so many beautiful details for the day, and sourcing décor from as far as the South of France where Kailey spent time visiting Dave the year leading up to the wedding.

The colour scheme reflected natural shades found in the Canadian Rockies, including hues of greys and dusty blues. Wooden harvest tables and vineyard chairs retained just the right amount of rustic flair, while gold geometric and marble accents added modern elements to the design.

Following a romantic ceremony set in front of an impressive stone fireplace in the Main Lodge, the couple took off for photos in Kailey’s father’s Triumph TR6 convertible! The night ended with the ultimate comfort food inspired by the newlyweds’ initials: deluxe “KD” mac ‘n’ cheese.

Clearly we aren’t the only ones who were wowed by this wedding. Fernie is a very special place for Kristen + Kendal. They travel there dozens of weekends year round to ski, hike and relax in nature. They love it so much, in fact, that they recently purchased an inn that they are now renovating! Naturally, they wanted their friends and family to experience the beauty of their favourite place, and so they planned a weekend of events to celebrate their marriage.

Friday evening kicked off the weekend with a casual meet & greet hosted at a family cabin. The wedding day brought blue skies and sunshine, and the ceremony was held at a quaint B&B property called Birch Meadows Lodge. Kendal and his father built a beautiful wooden arch and benches for the ceremony seating. Kristen + Kendal said their vows surrounded by mountains in a beautiful meadow full of wildflowers – it couldn’t have been more picturesque.

The Rusty Edge was host to Kristen + Kendal’s reception. It’s a local restaurant / pub that the couple frequents when they’re in town. Using wooden tables and chiavari chairs, natural linen fabrics, lush greenery and white florals, we enhanced the restaurant’s natural, organic aesthetic to stay true to our mountain-loving bride and groom. The next day, guests joined the newlyweds for coffee and pastries to reminisce about the weekend’s events before heading back home.

Photographers Lolo & Noa did a perfect job capturing the essence of Kristen + Kendal’s style. I mean, you couldn’t make this couple look bad if you tried, but we’re still thrilled with how the images turned out!

There was something magical about Aasttha + Prasann’s wedding day. The warm sun, a serene calm in the air, the majestic beauty of North Arm Farm – perhaps something else, that can’t be explained. But the feeling of that day truly embodied Aasttha + Prasann’s beautiful personalities and the love they share.

Traditional East Indian wedding customs were blended with a laid-back, organic vibe in a truly picture-perfect setting. North Arm Farm is a hidden gem of a venue, tucked away in Pemberton, B.C. – a short drive north of Whistler.

My words won’t do this day justice, but luckily you can read more about it in the Wedding Tales feature by Edmonton Journal, and you absolutely cannot miss watching this highlight film shot in Super 8mm film by Tomasz Wagner. It is such a perfect showcase of the day and the love that surrounds this special couple.

This wedding is very special to our team as the beautiful bride was one of our own. Kelsey began working as an intern at JBW and learned quickly, taking on the role as Assistant Wedding Coordinator. She met Dean as part of her own whirlwind love story and moved to Northern Alberta to be with him, sadly leaving the JBW team – but we were so happy for her new adventure! A couple years later we were honoured to be asked to coordinate Kelsey + Dean’s wedding at Buffalo Mountain Lodge in beautiful Banff, Alberta.

Kelsey + Dean chose to do a first look and take their photos before the ceremony. This is a great idea for a destination wedding, as it allows guests to enjoy their day and explore the local attractions. After the most touching and heartfelt ceremony (for real, we were blown away!), guests enjoyed cocktails while we transformed the Wapiti Room for dinner. Ash grey linens and wooden chiavari chairs complemented the rustic setting, while gold mercury accents and soft blooms in creams and blush added romance and elegance.

The stone fireplace was covered in candlelight, and the wedding party sat in front of it at a grand King’s Table – which only partially collapsed due to a faulty table leg! We can laugh about it now as no dresses were harmed during this incident – and what’s a wedding without a funny story to share!?

Before departing, guests were invited to enjoy Sunday brunch with the newlyweds. It was the perfect mountain wedding weekend for the most deserving couple! Enjoy these beautiful images by Nicole Ashley Photography.

This spring we had the honour of providing Wedding Day Management services to Leanna + Mark for their Fairmont Hotel Macdonald wedding.

Leanna was a vision in a classically draped gown topped with an exquisite jeweled bolero by Hayley Paige. After their ‘first look’ photos with Sharon Litchfield, the bridal party made their way to the Empire Terrace for a beautiful outdoor ceremony in front of an intimate group of Leanna + Mark’s family and friends.

The evening was filled with surprise musical performances, including an opera performance by the Master of Ceremonies, and a beautiful violin performance by Mark for his new bride accompanied by his brother on the baby grand piano.
