Edmonton Wedding Planner: Linda + Marcus
When we first met Linda + Marcus they shared that the movie Up! has special meaning in their relationship, so including balloons in their wedding celebrations was a given.
Known for telling stories through their photography, Infused Studios were the perfect fit to document Linda + Marcus’ special day. Their Up! themed engagement session was featured on Love & Lavender! We also incorporated balloons down the aisle at their gorgeous Magrath Mansion ceremony.
The reception was held at one of our favourite Edmonton wedding venues – The Art Gallery of Alberta – where gold metallic elements were paired with vibrant shades of purple to create a striking design. It’s hard to believe it has nearly been one year since the big day!

Edmonton Wedding Planner: Melanie + Chris
Melanie + Chris wanted a fun, easy experience for their guests, so they opted to have both ceremony and reception in the same location – Fort Edmonton Park’s Blatchford Air Hangar. The day was warm and sunny which worked perfectly for our outdoor ceremony plans.
The classic black and cream palette provided a neat juxtaposition to the rustic venue. We brought the outdoors in with pops of fresh green throughout the floral arrangements, and the altar was flanked by two gorgeous curly willow and moss “trees” with hanging glass orbs and candles.
As a focal point at the reception, we designed a scrumptious black and white dessert table featuring: apple pies (Chris’ favourite), cupcakes, Oreo cheesecake, chocolate whoopie pies, white chocolate mousse cups, dark chocolate dipped pretzel sticks and more!
Melanie’s father restored a vintage Jaguar for photos which looked amazing parked in front of the Hangar and worked so great as a photo prop! Late lunch came rolling in on a vintage fire truck with a built-in wood fired pizza oven courtesy of Canicus Catering.

Banff Wedding Planner: Nicole + Blake
Nicole + Blake were married at the Castle of the Rocky Mountains – The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. We worked with this fun-loving couple from start to finish to plan and design their mountain destination wedding.
The wedding was designed to enhance the dramatic elegance of the venue with a non-traditional colour palette to reflect the unique personal styles of the bride and groom. Mixed metallics and laser-cut stationery details hinted at the medieval characteristics of the hotel, while lush brightly coloured florals added romance and femininity. Some unique décor elements included a custom black glitter aisle runner, a metal seating chart and laser cut place card wraps around the napkins.
Guests received two custom flavours of fudge from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory that were hand selected by the bride and groom. They also took home an evergreen seedling plant in honour of Nicole’s late father. Duelling pianists were brought in as the evening entertainment, and they kept guests on the dance floor all night long!

Edmonton Event Planner: Parisian Inspired Baby Shower
We were delighted to help celebrate the arrival of Baby Fitz with a Parisian inspired shower hosted by his maternal grandmother at the Royal Mayfair Golf Club.
The theme of the shower was inspired by Fitz’s mom’s love for sophisticated French design, which she developed while attending photography school in Paris. A neutral palette of taupe and crisp white with ornate scrolls and stripes integrated throughout the event design made the celebration fit for a baby boy with high style.
A French style café served lattes, cappuccinos and specialty coffees which guests paired with exquisite treats from the adjacent ‘patisserie’, including a showpiece croquembouche, macarons, meringues, eclairs and lemon cakes from Duchess Bake Shop.
Parisian inspired lounge furniture shipped in from Decor & More created a comfortable space for guests to hold the star of the party. Guests tested their baby smarts with a celebrity baby name game and nursery rhyme quiz, and the winners took home beautiful Voluspa candles. Baby Fitz was showered with love and cuddles – a great start to what’s sure to be a beautiful life!

Creative Shoot Featured on WedLuxe.com
Earlier this year we worked with an incredible team of creative professionals to produce a shoot inspired by Pantone’s 2014 Colour of the Year – Radiant Orchid. Pairing a gradient of purples – from soft lavender to deep plum – with tones of peach, tangerine and copper, resulted in an unexpected colour palette that inspired all elements of the shoot. We tinted our model’s hair peach, incorporated peaches, grapes and blackberries in the edible components, and even had a peach kitten on set!
Pops of black gave the design a contemporary edge, and triangles were used as a geometric component that were carried through the stationery, cake, bouquet, food and accessories. Enjoy this selection of our favourite images below, and jump over to WedLuxe.com to check out the full feature!

Edmonton Wedding Planner: Sandy + Steve
Last week we shared the inspiration behind Sandy + Steve’s Enjoy Centre wedding design. As far as winter weddings go, this one is pretty spectacular!
Both from large families with strong cultural traditions, we worked with Sandy + Steve to fuse their East Indian and Croatian backgrounds to create a truly unique event experience.
- A traditional East Indian Henna (Mehndi) party was held before the wedding.
- A Croatian band played at the ceremony and throughout dinner.
- Sandy wore a gorgeous ivory lace gown for the ceremony, while her bridesmaids wore traditional East Indian attire.
- Customary Croatian shots of fine cognacs and grappa were served to guests upon arrival at the reception.
- A Dhol drummer escorted the newlyweds into their reception for the grand entrance.
- A mix of Western and Eastern cuisine was served which included family favourites from both sides.
- DJ Pat from Premiere DJs by Urban Metropolis played a fusion of Indian dance music, Top 40, R&B and classic Croatian polkas!

Inspiration to Reality: Sandy + Steve
Sandy + Steve wanted their winter wedding to be dramatic, romantic, elegant and bold. We let the stunning glass ceilings at The Enjoy Centre serve as inspiration for the design, allowing the deep blue night sky to shine through and enhancing it with additional blue lighting around the perimeter of the space. White and gold textured lighting was used to breakup the blue, mimicking twinkling stars. Metallic elements were carried throughout the design to ensure the sparkle of winter was present, while rich tones of cranberry and red florals brought vibrancy and life to the tables.
