It’s always exciting to produce an event in a new venue, so we were thrilled when Jeanine and Daniel decided to hold their modern wedding reception at Renaissance Edmonton Airport Hotel. Open since Spring 2014, Renaissance YEG is a refreshingly contemporary spot to throw a party. We love their metal tabletops and sleek white styling.

Jeanine + Daniel held their ceremony at Dan’s childhood church – Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Sherwood Park.  The wedding party had ample time to take photos in the afternoon before heading to the Renaissance to freshen up for the reception.

With a large guest list, mixing table designs – including rounds, squares and rectangles – added interest to the ballroom. Site 6 constructed a unique geometric backdrop matching the stationery design that Pinkpolka had created for Jeanine + Daniel’s invitations. An all-white dessert table featured tooth cookies since they’re both dentists and met in dental school!

Daniel and his groomsmen surprised Jeanine with a dance performance at the reception! It was to a mash-up of songs including boy band hits by Backstreet Boys and Bruno Mars – they did an incredible job and are clearly missing their calling in the entertainment industry.

For C+B, The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is not just a beautiful mountain resort. It holds special meaning in their relationship, as it is where they first met while attending a conference as University students. Ten years later, they chose to hold their wedding here – on Valentine’s Day. It doesn’t get more romantic than that!

For privacy reasons we aren’t sharing any photos of the happy couple and their guests, but we wanted to showcase some of the gorgeous décor we designed, and acknowledge the talented team of event professionals who helped bring this day to life.

• The luxurious custom invitation and stationery suite by Palettera featured gold foil application and letterpress printing, with custom illustrations of places of significance to their love story. The invitations were delivered in gorgeous boxes lined with red rose paper and finished with satin ribbon.
• Guest tables were dressed in cream overlays with embroidered appliques, giving a soft and romantic look to the Beauvert Ballroom. Natural Manzanita tree centrepieces designed by fabLOOMosity twinkled with gold votives that hung from the branches, while a base of hydrangea and lush garden roses spilled onto the tables. Pearl glass charger plates, cranberry napkins and letterpress menus completed each setting.
• The 18-person wedding party sat at a dramatic King’s Table covered in a lush floral tablescape of textural greens, cream and burgundy blooms, and ample candlelight.
• The Art of Cake designed a gorgeous four-tier cake covered in hand-sculpted gold petals.

We had the pleasure of working with Michelle and Matt to plan and design their destination wedding in B.C.’s beautiful Okanagan Valley! From the beginning of the planning process it was clear that they were more concerned about the comfort and experience of their guests than making the event about themselves. They wanted to create an experience for their guests to enjoy a mini vacation, and spend as much time possible visiting with loved ones.

To kick off the wedding weekend an exclusive event was held at the spectacular Mission Hill Winery. The venue was privately booked so guests were able to explore the architecture, take a private tour through the wine cellars and enjoy the ambiance of a string quartet under the stars.

On the wedding day the ceremony was scheduled in the late afternoon so guests could relax in the sun at the resort. Held at the picturesque CedarCreek Estate Winery, guests enjoyed a post-ceremony wine reception before being shuttled back to the resort for the evening events. Dinner and the formal program were held in a beautifully draped tent adjacent to Manteo Resort. After dinner guests made their way into the ballroom which was transformed into a contemporary lounge with a nightclub atmosphere, where they danced the night away to music spun by Edmonton’s top DJs, Harman B & DJ Kwake.
