Edmonton Wedding Coordinator: Jocelynn + Sam
Jocelynn and Sam wanted a carefree wedding day they could spend creating memories with their loved ones. Family is very important to them, which was clear with their choice to include all their siblings, nieces and nephews in the wedding party.
After sharing a ‘first look’ and an afternoon of photos in Edmonton’s River Valley and at Woodwork restaurant, Jocelynn and Sam made their way to The Westin Edmonton. Their late afternoon ceremony was beautifully personalized by Barbara of Threshold Ceremonies, and was set under a handcrafted arbour lovingly made by Jocelynn’s father.
Guests joined the newlyweds for cocktails and refreshments before sitting down for a delicious meal and heartfelt toasts. The ballroom was simple and elegant with pops of blue, silver and greenery amidst an all-white canvas. Talent Productions provided the soundtrack for the evening and everyone danced the night away.
Sharon Litchfield never ceases to amaze with her ability to produce breathtaking images (though her subject matter wasn’t exactly difficult to shoot)!

Edmonton Wedding Planner: Alessandra + Daniel
Alessandra + Daniel’s wedding brought two big, loving families together. With both Italian and Portuguese heritages there were a few must-haves: open bar, great food and a killer dance party!
After a traditional ceremony at the iconic St. Joseph’s Basilica, the couple and their wedding party had a blast taking photos with Katch Studios before joining their guests at The Fairmont Hotel Macdonald.
Ale + Danny wanted a timeless wedding design with a dash of glamour and high fashion. Using a palette of gold, cream and black, we dressed the tables with champagne and off-white linens, ornate gold charger plates, three different styles of white floral centrepieces – and of course, ample candlelight.
After dinner and toasts the killer dance party ensued, and it certainly did not disappoint! Enjoy this look back at a gorgeous day celebrating a beautiful couple, inside and out.

Edmonton Wedding Planner: Mariah + Nathan
High school sweethearts, Mariah + Nathan have a love for tradition and an affinity for Old World Romance, making The Fairmont Hotel Macdonald the perfect setting to celebrate their love story.
It was a complete hotel takeover, with Team JBW working hard the morning of the wedding to transform three different spaces. After a touching ceremony in the Wedgwood Ballroom, guests joined the newlyweds on the terrace for a garden party complete with refreshments, live music and caricature artists. Cocktails were held in the Empire Foyer, where guests mingled and snapped candids in a photo booth to help make a memorable guest book for Mariah + Nathan.
The doors to the Empire Ballroom opened, unveiling timeless décor, with English Garden inspired florals in soft creams and pinks. The first of many surprises throughout the evening, Mariah + Nathan entered the ballroom sharing their first dance to singer and pianist Lindsey Nagy’s rendition of A Thousand Years. The festivities continued with a 5-course meal, a delicious “sweet bar,” signature drinks poured through a custom ice luge, a surprise hip hop performance, and two dress changes!
Thanks to Shandro Photo and A Love Story for beautifully capturing the day. Enjoy!

Banff Wedding Planner: Megan + Eric
Megan + Eric decided to host a weekend destination wedding at one of their favorite locations – The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. They wanted their guests to enjoy a sumptuous, romantic winter getaway, while incorporating unique elements to personalize the day.
Upon arrival, guests received welcome packages in their hotel rooms which included some of the couple’s favourite treats and snacks, mountain-themed components to tie into the destination, as well as a weekend itinerary postcard with a personalized thank you note. At the reception dinner tables, “guest libs” (mad libs) cards were placed at each setting on the other side of the menu. Guests filled in the blanks to Megan + Eric’s love story with their own creative adjectives – this was such a fun keepsake and an excellent alternative to a traditional guest book!
To convey a warm, romantic feeling with wintery undertones, we based the wedding design around a palette of mixed metallics and warm pastels. “Winter sparkle” was included in elements throughout the wedding design – from the glitter paper used in the stationery, to champagne sequin overlays, to the custom sparkly silver aisle runner. Black suede chair pads on dark gold diamond back chairs enhanced the medieval characteristics of Mount Stephen Hall.
Here’s a look at Megan + Eric’s magical Banff winter wedding with stunning photography by Gabe McClintock. You can also view the feature on Junebug Weddings. Enjoy!
