Bouquet Inspiration: Organic
The last of our bouquet inspiration series features gorgeous organic bouquets perfect for the bride who desires a rustic or outdoorsy element to her wedding day style.
Organic bouquets are full of texture and mixed elements. Think beyond floral – succulents, cotton, berries, scabiosa pods and fiddleheads add so much dimension and movement. Earthy tones give the bouquet a rustic feel, while soft pastels convey whimsy and romance.

Bouquet Inspiration: Romantic
So far we’ve looked at Classic White Bouquets and Bright + Bold Bouquets. Today it’s all about romance!
Lush peonies, full-blown roses and soft pastel colours exude luxury and romance in these JBW bridal bouquets. These talented florists created a beautiful balance between feminine florals and delicate hints of greenery or dusty miller to add texture. To finish your romantic bouquet, add flowing ribbons, brooches or satin and lace handles.

Bouquet Inspiration: Bright + Bold
Part 2 of our bouquet inspiration series – we’re featuring bright and bold bouquets full of colour! Bold bouquets really pop against a white or cream wedding dress.
Keep it all one colour for a more classic look, or play with various shades of a colour for more dimension and texture. To make an even bigger statement, pair complementary colours such as fuchsia and kelly green or violet and tangerine.
Here’s a collection of JBW brides who have chosen to go with bright and bold bouquets on their wedding day!

Bouquet Inspiration: Classic White
The bridal bouquet is a very important element of your wedding. You’ll be photographed with it for much of the day – it absolutely must reflect your wedding style AND look great with your gown and accessories! In the name of inspiration, we’re flooding the blog with flowers and featuring a series on different styles of beautiful bouquets!
+ + + + + + + + + + +
First up – Classic White. You can rarely go wrong with an all-white/cream bouquet – it’s perfect for the bride who desires an elegant, timeless and sophisticated look on her wedding day. Soft flowers with high petal counts like roses and ranunculus scream romance, while a bouquet composed of blooms with stronger lines and edges such as orchids or calla lilies are a great choice for the more contemporary bride. Adding bits of peach, champagne or blush can give the bouquet more dimension and texture, and often conveys a vintage undertone.

Banff Wedding Planner: Megan + Eric
Megan + Eric decided to host a weekend destination wedding at one of their favorite locations – The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. They wanted their guests to enjoy a sumptuous, romantic winter getaway, while incorporating unique elements to personalize the day.
Upon arrival, guests received welcome packages in their hotel rooms which included some of the couple’s favourite treats and snacks, mountain-themed components to tie into the destination, as well as a weekend itinerary postcard with a personalized thank you note. At the reception dinner tables, “guest libs” (mad libs) cards were placed at each setting on the other side of the menu. Guests filled in the blanks to Megan + Eric’s love story with their own creative adjectives – this was such a fun keepsake and an excellent alternative to a traditional guest book!
To convey a warm, romantic feeling with wintery undertones, we based the wedding design around a palette of mixed metallics and warm pastels. “Winter sparkle” was included in elements throughout the wedding design – from the glitter paper used in the stationery, to champagne sequin overlays, to the custom sparkly silver aisle runner. Black suede chair pads on dark gold diamond back chairs enhanced the medieval characteristics of Mount Stephen Hall.
Here’s a look at Megan + Eric’s magical Banff winter wedding with stunning photography by Gabe McClintock. You can also view the feature on Junebug Weddings. Enjoy!

Edmonton Wedding Planner: Kyle + Chase
Kyle + Chase…where do I begin. They are two of the most kind-hearted gentlemen I know, and anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting them knows they will bend over backwards for their loved ones. Oh, and they’re unbelievably handsome. It’s obvious, but deserves acknowledgment!
It was a perfect summer day at the Fort Edmonton Blatchford Air Hangar. The wedding combined black tie formality (guests dressed in black, white or grey) with an outdoor, carefree vibe – a theme that is very reflective of Kyle + Chase’s personalities.
They exchanged vows under a live tree covered with ribbons and over 3,000 paper cranes. The first dance (Tracy Chapman’s ‘The Promiss’) was performed by singer/songwriter Krystle Dos Santos, while guests lit sparklers and surrounded the happy couple. It was truly a magical moment!
This beautiful wedding was featured in Blush Magazine’s Fall/Winter 2014 issue. Head over to the online feature to read more about their wedding and incredible proposal story!

Edmonton Wedding Planner: Lindsay + Ben
Lindsay + Ben are such a sweet couple. Their October wedding day was filled with big, warm smiles from all their family and friends. I just love the look on Ben’s face as he sees Lindsay walk down the aisle at St. Albert Catholic Parish!
Their timeless ivory and gold reception at Matrix Hotel featured a killer candy bar and amazing entertainment – duelling pianists Jesse Peters and Tiff Hall kept guests on the dance floor all night!
Enjoy a glimpse into their love story captured by Nicole Ashley Photography.

Banff Wedding Planner: Wendy + Ian
Wendy + Ian’s wedding was published in WedLuxe Magazine’s Winter/Spring 2014 issue, but we haven’t yet blogged it! In honour of their first anniversary (today!), here’s a look at their incredible wedding at The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel.
The week leading up to the wedding was quite eventful as the area suffered catastrophic flooding, resulting in the highway being closed. Thankfully it reopened just a couple days before the wedding and everything carried on as planned. We also lucked out with a warm and sunny day for the outdoor ceremony set on Bow Valley Terrace with a postcard-perfect view.
Enjoy Wendy + Ian’s love story as captured by the talented C.J. Scott Photography!
