Inspiration to Reality: Anita + Ben
Anita + Ben’s wedding design blended a romantic colour palette with modern geometric shapes. Beginning with their invitations, we worked with Pinkpolka to develop patterns that had an edgy, unique look while using materials and colours that were timeless and romantic. This inspired us to tie the geometric shapes into their ceremony and head table backdrops, a custom DJ booth, as well as the wedding cake.

Edmonton Wedding Planner: Allena + Jamie
When we first met with Allena + Jamie, it was clear we’d be a great fit to work together and that it would be a fun year ahead of planning and designing their dream wedding. Always positive and upbeat, their zest for life shone through in every decision made for the wedding, with their top priorities being a fun weekend for their guests and jaw-dropping décor.
The overall design direction was inspired by the ceremony venue – Rainer Gardens. The gardens featured an existing stone structure at the altar, so we designed a lavish floral wall to create a unique and luxurious backdrop for the vows. Despite the unseasonably cold weather for August, the rain held off and the ceremony proceeded outdoors as planned!
Guests made their way to Oasis Centre for the reception, where show-stopping custom witch hazel centrepieces and lighting in morphing tones of pinks, blues and purples brought the Opulent Enchanted Garden theme to life.
Featured on the WedLuxe blog, Allena + Jamie’s wedding was also a top 3 finalist for a 2016 Canadian Special Events Star Award in the Best Wedding Over $75K category!

Destination ‘I Do’ Wedding Series: Kelowna, British Columbia
Spanning from the Shuswap lakes in south-central British Columbia to the southern-most border town of Osoyoos, the Okanagan is home to world renowned wines and wineries, breathtaking golf courses, deep blue lakes and vast pine forests.
Daily WestJet flights from Edmonton to Kelowna makes it a quick and easy destination for your guests. Plus, Kelowna boasts a dry, sunny climate with average temperatures above 20 degrees from early May through the end of September.

Edmonton Wedding Planner: Edmonton Country Club Wedding
J+M’s August wedding was the perfect blend of romance and celebration! We designed the day to be timeless with a lush garden theme. Fittingly, the ceremony was held at the beautiful Devonian Gardens and featured a stunning chuppah covered in greenery, curly willow, vibrant florals and fruit.
The reception was held at Edmonton Country Club – a gem tucked away in the River Valley with outstanding service and food. We setup a tent on the patio over the dance floor, creating a most excellent outdoor dance party setting. Inside the event space long rectangle tables were covered with lush greenery, gold candelabras, florals and fruits, including pears, apples, grapes, strawberries and plums. Gold Chateau chairs, ornate glass charger plates and timeless stationery completed the table design.
This wedding incorporated several different cultural traditions: a traditional Chinese Lion Dance for the couple’s grand entrance, a Ukrainian dance performance by the Cheremosh Dance Company to kick off the party, and Jewish Hora dancing to continue the celebrations. It was such a delight for guests to see these unique customs woven together to celebrate the newlyweds!

We first met Tiara when she attended one of our wedding planning workshops, and we were thrilled when she and Ricky decided they wanted our help to ensure their wedding day ran smoothly. You couldn’t meet a more kind or caring couple, and after getting to know their families it came as no surprise why these two are such a great match.
Matrix Hotel in downtown Edmonton served as the backdrop to their special day, with both ceremony and reception held at the venue. Tiara + Ricky chose to do a ‘first look’ and take their photos before the ceremony, setting the tone for a relaxed and fun-filled day. After a delicious meal and some hilarious speeches, guests celebrated until the early hours of the morning with an epic dance party!
Tiara + Ricky’s wedding is featured in the Fall/Winter 2016 issue of WeddingBells Magazine – what a perfect memento of such a lovely day!

Timeless, elegant and full of luxe details, Desiree and Al’s summer wedding took place at two of our favourite Edmonton venues. The classically beautiful ceremony was held in Hotel Macdonald’s Wedgwood Room, and the contemporary Art Gallery of Alberta set the stage for the evening festivities. Fittingly, Desiree wore two dazzling Pnina Tornai dresses: a formal ballgown for the ceremony and a fitted evening gown for the reception.
These two are so sweet and caring, and the entire day was filled with love radiating from their wedding party, families and friends (who sure know how to party)!
DQ Studios captured the day beautifully, and A Love Story put together this awesome highlight film of the day.

Edmonton Wedding Planner: Charlotte + Frantz, Part 2
After saying ‘I Do’ in an intimate ceremony at The Fairmont Hotel Macdonald, Charlotte + Frantz wanted to celebrate their marriage by throwing an incredible party for their friends and families. The reception was held six months later at the modern Art Gallery of Alberta.
Long rectangle tables flanked either side of the reception space, while square tables lined the centre of the room. Layers of geometric patterns on the linens, table runners and chargers enhanced a monochromatic palette of whites and soft greys. Homogenous groupings of all-white florals including callas, hydrangea, peonies and garden roses were angled for a modern look. Luxurious letterpress stationery featured the couple’s contemporary monogram, which was also displayed on the DJ booth and custom Violet Chocolate Co. favours.
A dessert bar featured Charlotte + Frantz’s favourite sweets, including Nanaimo bars and locally owned Moonshine doughnuts. Fat Franks hot dog truck served delicious late night eats – a perfect way to fuel up for more dancing!
Before perusing the gorgeous photos by Gabe McClintock, you MUST watch this incredible video by Capture the Moment Media based in Vancouver. They filmed both the December ceremony and June reception – it’s such a wonderful depiction of Charlotte + Frantz’s love story.

Lake Louise Wedding Planner: Tess + James
Planning an early May wedding in Alberta is always a gamble in terms of weather, but when you’re getting married at one of the most picturesque locations in the country, you really can’t go wrong! Driving to The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, the roads were clear and the sky was blue. As we approached this renowned retreat in the Rockies, the snow began to fall and we woke up the next morning to the most gorgeous view – it felt like we were inside a snow globe peering out!
Tess + James’ vision for their mountain destination wedding was to host an intimate celebration full of warmth and romance. With nods of Tuscan influence, organic greenery and an abundance of lush florals covered the tables, while gold candelabras added formality and elegance to the beautiful Victoria ballroom. A dramatic king’s table set in front of the stone fireplace hosted the 14-person wedding party.
As always, Kelly Redinger did an incredible job capturing the day!
