Charlotte + Frantz were married in an intimate ceremony at The Fairmont Hotel Macdonald. They wanted to exchange vows in front of their immediate families, sharing the sacred moment with their most important supporters. They recited their own vows, which were so beautiful and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. I feel so honoured to have shared in this special moment with them.

Months later, they would celebrate with an ultra-modern reception at the Art Gallery of Alberta – more to come in Part 2!

The Pavilion at Silvertip Resort in Canmore was the perfect Rocky Mountain venue for Maureen + Tyler’s winter wedding getaway.

It was important to Maureen + Tyler that the weekend was a celebration filled with personalized touches, wow-factor décor, and fun! The weekend kicked off with a welcome cocktail party in the penthouse suite at Grande Rockies Resort, and the fun continued with a killer dance party and soft serve ice cream station to finish off the evening festivities.

Planning an early May wedding in Alberta is always a gamble in terms of weather, but when you’re getting married at one of the most picturesque locations in the country, you really can’t go wrong! Driving to The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, the roads were clear and the sky was blue. As we approached this renowned retreat in the Rockies, the snow began to fall and we woke up the next morning to the most gorgeous view – it felt like we were inside a snow globe peering out!

Tess + James’ vision for their mountain destination wedding was to host an intimate celebration full of warmth and romance. With nods of Tuscan influence, organic greenery and an abundance of lush florals covered the tables, while gold candelabras added formality and elegance to the beautiful Victoria ballroom. A dramatic king’s table set in front of the stone fireplace hosted the 14-person wedding party.

High school sweethearts, Mariah + Nathan have a love for tradition and an affinity for Old World Romance, making The Fairmont Hotel Macdonald the perfect setting to celebrate their love story.

It was a complete hotel takeover, with Team JBW working hard the morning of the wedding to transform three different spaces. After a touching ceremony in the Wedgwood Ballroom, guests joined the newlyweds on the terrace for a garden party complete with refreshments, live music and caricature artists. Cocktails were held in the Empire Foyer, where guests mingled and snapped candids in a photo booth to help make a memorable guest book for Mariah + Nathan.

The doors to the Empire Ballroom opened, unveiling timeless décor, with English Garden inspired florals in soft creams and pinks. The first of many surprises throughout the evening, Mariah + Nathan entered the ballroom sharing their first dance to singer and pianist Lindsey Nagy’s rendition of A Thousand Years. The festivities continued with a 5-course meal, a delicious “sweet bar,” signature drinks poured through a custom ice luge, a surprise hip hop performance, and two dress changes!

This spring we had the honour of providing Wedding Day Management services to Leanna + Mark for their Fairmont Hotel Macdonald wedding.

Leanna was a vision in a classically draped gown topped with an exquisite jeweled bolero by Hayley Paige. After their ‘first look’ photos with Sharon Litchfield, the bridal party made their way to the Empire Terrace for a beautiful outdoor ceremony in front of an intimate group of Leanna + Mark’s family and friends.

The evening was filled with surprise musical performances, including an opera performance by the Master of Ceremonies, and a beautiful violin performance by Mark for his new bride accompanied by his brother on the baby grand piano.

For C+B, The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is not just a beautiful mountain resort. It holds special meaning in their relationship, as it is where they first met while attending a conference as University students. Ten years later, they chose to hold their wedding here – on Valentine’s Day. It doesn’t get more romantic than that!

For privacy reasons we aren’t sharing any photos of the happy couple and their guests, but we wanted to showcase some of the gorgeous décor we designed, and acknowledge the talented team of event professionals who helped bring this day to life.

• The luxurious custom invitation and stationery suite by Palettera featured gold foil application and letterpress printing, with custom illustrations of places of significance to their love story. The invitations were delivered in gorgeous boxes lined with red rose paper and finished with satin ribbon.
• Guest tables were dressed in cream overlays with embroidered appliques, giving a soft and romantic look to the Beauvert Ballroom. Natural Manzanita tree centrepieces designed by fabLOOMosity twinkled with gold votives that hung from the branches, while a base of hydrangea and lush garden roses spilled onto the tables. Pearl glass charger plates, cranberry napkins and letterpress menus completed each setting.
• The 18-person wedding party sat at a dramatic King’s Table covered in a lush floral tablescape of textural greens, cream and burgundy blooms, and ample candlelight.
• The Art of Cake designed a gorgeous four-tier cake covered in hand-sculpted gold petals.

“You can’t stop love.” It’s a phrase Kim + Pierre have used to describe their serendipitous relationship over the years, and again proved to be so true for their Los Cabos destination wedding.

Long story short: about a week and a half before the wedding was to take place in beautiful Cabo, we had to move up the date to 4 days earlier! A change in Pierre’s work schedule meant that he could only be in Cabo for 24 hours (say what!?) – but Kim + Pierre took it all in stride and knew that the most important outcome of the entire trip was that they would be husband and wife.

Everything had to be moved- the venue, hair, makeup, transportation, décor, flowers. We were very lucky that all our wonderful suppliers were so accommodating and able to make the new date work. The experience reiterated why Cabo is one of our favourite spots for destination weddings.

And so the whirlwind wedding began, first with a surprise legal ceremony at the Edmonton International Airport in the early hours of the morning! Then we boarded the plane with the newlyweds and made our way to Cabo, landing mid-afternoon. The group was transported to our incredible resort – Secrets Puerto Los Cabos – and I took off to the wedding venue while the ladies began hair and makeup.

The symbolic ceremony and reception were both held at Sunset Da Mona Lisa – rated one of the Top 5 Coolest Restaurants in the World! I was in awe of the view and have to share this photo I took during setup at sunset – absolutely breathtaking!

It was a busy and action-packed day, but certainly the most memorable wedding experience I’ve had to date. Kim + Pierre’s friends and family were so welcoming and it was so much fun to share this adventure with them.
