Edmonton Wedding Planner: Sheena + Chad
Hard to believe it’s almost been a year since Sheena + Chad’s wedding. This pretty fête was featured on Style Me Pretty Canada, but we wanted to give it the blog love it deserves on JBW as well!
When Sheena + Chad first came to us to plan and design their big day, the words they used to describe their vision were romantic, timeless, intimate and elegant. Above all, they wanted each guest to feel important – that they had played a special part in their love story.
We lucked out with beautiful weather for the outdoor ceremony at Magrath Mansion – an Edmonton landmark and historic private estate. A beautiful vintage hutch displayed photos of family members who are no longer with us, so their memories would be present at the occasion. Chad wrote his wedding vows on cue cards and each one had a word in large bold letters on the back. All together they read: “I will love you forever.” Such a sweet surprise gesture for his bride!
We transformed the Art Gallery of Alberta’s Manning Hall from a cool, contemporary space into a warm and romantic haven for the reception. Mixing square and round tables with different linen combinations and centrepiece designs added layers of texture and interest. The unique head table backdrop featuring ombré hanging floral stems beautifully framed the bride and groom.

Edmonton Wedding Planner: Nicole + Jon
Jon + Nicole, the talent behind Nicole Ashley Photography, planned an intimate elopement in San Francisco’s spectacular Sutro Forest. We were honoured to help them throw a celebration for friends and family back in Edmonton at The Parlour Italian Kitchen & Bar.

Banff Wedding Planner: Megan + Eric
Megan + Eric decided to host a weekend destination wedding at one of their favorite locations – The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. They wanted their guests to enjoy a sumptuous, romantic winter getaway, while incorporating unique elements to personalize the day.
Upon arrival, guests received welcome packages in their hotel rooms which included some of the couple’s favourite treats and snacks, mountain-themed components to tie into the destination, as well as a weekend itinerary postcard with a personalized thank you note. At the reception dinner tables, “guest libs” (mad libs) cards were placed at each setting on the other side of the menu. Guests filled in the blanks to Megan + Eric’s love story with their own creative adjectives – this was such a fun keepsake and an excellent alternative to a traditional guest book!
To convey a warm, romantic feeling with wintery undertones, we based the wedding design around a palette of mixed metallics and warm pastels. “Winter sparkle” was included in elements throughout the wedding design – from the glitter paper used in the stationery, to champagne sequin overlays, to the custom sparkly silver aisle runner. Black suede chair pads on dark gold diamond back chairs enhanced the medieval characteristics of Mount Stephen Hall.

Edmonton Wedding Planner: Danijela + Zoran
Danijela + Zoran were married on a perfect fall day. The leaves were a beautiful golden yellow and the sun was shining with blue skies.
Both from Serbian heritage, they wanted a timeless, elegant wedding that included some of their shared cultural traditions. After a traditional ceremony at Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. John, guests made their way to Chateau Lacombe hotel in downtown Edmonton, where the ballroom sparkled with champagne and gold accents against a neutral ivory and taupe palette.

Victoria Wedding Planner: Megan + Peter
Two of my closest friends were married in Victoria last fall, and I had the honour of playing double duty as wedding planner and guest! The seaside ceremony and intimate reception were held at Brentwood Bay Resort & Spa – a luxurious getaway named one of the Top 10 Resorts in Canada by Condé Nast Traveler.

Plan Your Wedding Edmonton Workshop at Matrix Hotel
On Sunday, February 3rd we held our first ever wedding planning workshop for brides, grooms and their special guests to enjoy a day of professional wedding planning guidance through a variety of topics. All participating brides received a planning folder complete with checklists, budget guides and valuable resources, as well as a gift bag with generous offers (valued at over $1,000!) from Edmonton area vendors.
Held in Matrix Hotel’s Amber Ballroom, the day flew by with lots of great questions and interactivity. A big thank you to our interns Kelsey and Suzanne for helping out all day!
Four distinct table designs were showcased with décor from Special Event Rentals, flowers from faBLOOMosity and stationery from Pinkpolka Wedding Design.
Tuscan Garden: rustic, earthy, warm and fresh with a palette of walnut, taupe, terracotta, ivory and natural greens
