Robyn and Byron are such positive and caring people – one of those couples that lights up the room when they enter. Even the rain on their wedding day and a change to the Plan B ceremony location couldn’t dampen their moods. If anything, it made the day even more romantic!

Following their wedding ceremony at UofA Botanic Gardens, the newlyweds brought their cultures together in a beautiful Chinese Tea Ceremony. The couple shows their respect to the elders in their families with an offering of tea; in turn, they receive acceptance of the marriage.

The celebration followed at Edmonton Country Club, where guests dined at long tables and danced on the terrace under the stars.

Living in Iqaluit, Nunavut, Melena + Bayden chose to have a destination wedding in Banff so their family and friends from across various provinces and territories could come together to celebrate over a weekend.

Their outdoor ceremony took place on Tunnel Mountain Meadow. A simple wooden cross draped in soft fabric marked the altar, and served as a beautiful symbol amidst the spectacular Rocky Mountain backdrop.  We paired a romantic, airy aesthetic with the beautiful rustic setting of Buffalo Mountain Lodge, where the wedding dinner and dance were held.

Destination ‘I Do’ Wedding Series: Canmore, Alberta

Canmore is situated in the magnificent Bow Valley within Alberta’s Rockies. A short one-hour drive from Calgary, it is an accessible location for both guests and wedding vendors.

One of our favourite venues in Canmore is Silvertip Resort. The epitome of Rustic Elegance, Silvertip is a popular wedding venue and tends to book up far in advance. Dark wooden beams and ample natural light make the Pavilion banquet space a stunning setting for up to 250 guests.

Conveniently, you can hold both your ceremony and reception at Silvertip. In the summer months, say I Do in a gorgeous outdoor gazebo overlooking the mountains; in winter, nuptials are exchanged in front of a cozy stone fireplace inside the Pavilion.

The Pavilion at Silvertip Resort in Canmore was the perfect Rocky Mountain venue for Maureen + Tyler’s winter wedding getaway.

It was important to Maureen + Tyler that the weekend was a celebration filled with personalized touches, wow-factor décor, and fun! The weekend kicked off with a welcome cocktail party in the penthouse suite at Grande Rockies Resort, and the fun continued with a killer dance party and soft serve ice cream station to finish off the evening festivities.

Melissa + Trevor contacted us almost two years before their Canmore wedding weekend. Living in Fort McMurray, they wanted to ensure they had lots of time to enjoy the process and weren’t rushed with meetings and bookings. It was such a pleasure working with this sweet, easy-going couple!

Their guests were travelling from all over Canada, so Melissa + Trevor wanted to ensure the priority for the weekend was a FUN, relaxing experience for their family and friends. We lucked out with perfect weather all weekend, and their dream of an outdoor ceremony in the mountains came true! Both ceremony and reception were held at Canmore Nordic Centre.
