Family Wedding Photos
An increasingly popular trend is to display family wedding photos at your reception. It’s a beautiful way to include family members (past and present) in your wedding. I love this old photo of my paternal grandparents on their wedding day: May 29, 1949 in Melfort, Saskatchewan.

Fresh Lemonade at Summer Wedding
Today marks the 3rd Anniversary for one of our 2009 couples, Carilynn + Conor!
Here’s a fun idea from their summery yellow wedding…setup a fresh lemonade table at your reception so guests can enjoy a cool, refreshing drink. The cute lemonade sign below was designed by Pinkpolka.
Happy Anniversary!

Guest Book Alternative: Sports Jersey
One of the first impressions your guests will have of your reception is the guest book. Choosing a unique guest book alternative will set the tone for a fun night ahead! This photo is from Annik + James’ wedding last June. They personalized an Edmonton Oilers jersey and their family and friends signed it to create the perfect keepsake.

Creative Guestbook Ideas
The guestbook is a great way to personalize your wedding. Rather than using a standard lined book, consider one of the following creative guestbook ideas:
Use your engagement photos to create a custom photobook that guests will sign at your wedding.

Guests could sign an item of significance to you and your fiancé, such as a wine/champagne bottle,
a sports or memorabilia item, a ceramic plate or serving dish, etc.

Setup a camcorder and have guests leave video messages which you can later
display on a digital picture frame or burn to keepsake DVDs.
{Vimeo}
Have guests sign a photo mat that you can later use to frame a wedding picture.
{Elegant Bridal Accessories}
Have guests write their best wishes on postcards from your wedding location –
these can be stored in a keepsake box or scrapbooked after the wedding.

If you’re having a rustic-themed wedding, use large branches to create a wishing tree
where guests can hang their well wishes.

Two Birds Bridesmaid Dresses
If you’re in the market for bridesmaid dresses, you have to check out Twobirds!
Designer Ariane Goldman was fed up with spending too much money on bridesmaid dresses that she never wore again, so she created Twobirds Bridesmaid. Her unique dress design allows you to achieve a sophisticated, consistent look suited to various body types – plus, the dress is so versatile your ‘maids can wear it again (really)!
The Twobirds dress is offered in three collections (classic, rosette and two-toned) and comes in a variety of styles, colours and lengths. And the best part – no alterations required!
Happy Shopping!

Teacup Décor
An eclectic mix of teacups, saucers and teapots make super cute centrepieces for a bridal shower. Fill the cups with fresh flowers or candy, then add a vintage lace table runner to complete the look!

Themed Engagement Photos: Happy Easter!
I’ve been away for a couple weeks running an event in Jasper and taking a mini-vacation in Las Vegas with a few girlfriends, but I have some great things to share this April…so stay tuned!
I absolutely love themed engagement photos and just came across this fabulous session on Green Wedding Shoes blog by Arizona-based photographer Galaxie Andrews. Whether your themed e-session is based around a holiday, a shared hobby, a movie or television series, being creative with engagement photos is a great chance to show off your personalities and create truly unique memories!
Happy Easter!
